The Tsunami trail that takes you from the north end of the golf course up the hill to safety is actually a very nice hike from Neskowin Shores. Overall it is a good excuse for exercise and with a nice stroll through the Neskowin Hamlet. The route is 1.2 miles from Neskowin Shores to the top of the Tsunami trail hill. The elevation at the top is 140 ft.
Of course the hike takes you through the parking lot, past Hawk Creek Cafe and then down Hawk Drive past the Neskowin Beach Golf Course Clubhouse.
You now continue on along the golf course to the northern end until you get to the entry to the Tsunami Trail. This portion of the trail may present problems if conditions are wet. In fact in the heavy winter wet season this portion of the trail may be flooded. This is protected wetlands and the trail exists specifically for a Tsunami escape route. The new bridge over Hawk Creek is a great addition.
Soon after the bridge the climb begins with a reward at the top of a nice bench to take a break on to recover your breath.
Do this trail every day to help keep yourself in good shape.
